It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Coláiste Abhainn Rí, a vibrant and inclusive co-educational post-primary school located in the heart of Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
Coláiste Abhainn Rí opened its doors in August 2022, following the amalgamation of two proud and long-standing educational communities — Coláiste Éamann Rís and St. Brigid’s College. Our new school is built upon the rich traditions of both CEIST (Catholic Education, an Irish Schools Trust) and ERST (Edmund Rice Schools Trust), and we continue to be inspired daily by the vision and values of Catherine McAuley and Blessed Edmund Rice.
